Electric RC Cars

The hobby level radio control cars that are powered by high performance rechargeable electric batteries are called “electric rc cars.” The electric rc cars are typically powered by rechargeable nickel-cadmium, nickel metal hydride, or lithium polymer rc car batteries.

The electric rc cars come with radio control transmitter and receiver that help the drivers to drive and control cars. These rc cars run very fast, and are commonly used by hobbyists for racing.

Electric rc cars are generally considered good for novice and beginners to the hobby, but these cars can very offer great fun to the experts. There are numerous advantages of the electric rc cars, and some of these advantages are listed below.

Electric rc cars are easier to own. These cars are much cheaper than the gas rc cars or nitro rc cars. These cars are available in a myriad of designs and models.

Electric rc cars are pretty easier to handle and drive than the gas powered rc cars or nitro rc cars. These cars are available as offroad electric rc cars and onroad electric rc cars. The offroad electric rc cars can run on any type of rough surface, and thus these are recommended for the novice and beginners.

The onroad electric rc cars are designed to run on on the street, at the track, or any prepared surfaces, and are bit tough to handle and drive. Electric rc cars require almost no maintenance, or less maintenance and engine tuning as compared to the gas powered rc cars or nitro rc cars. The beginners and novice are recommended to start with a vehicle from a reputable hobby quality manufacturer like Team Associated, HPI, and Traxxas.  The companies like Tyco and Nikko offer a wide range of cheap electric cars.

Electric rc cars are available in ready to run (RTR) kits and almost ready to run (ARTR) kits, but the beginners are recommended to start with cheap ready to run electric rc cars.
