The radio control sailboats are typically powered by high performance light weight batteries, but nitro powered rc sailboats are also available.

An RC sailor needs to get right knowledge of sailing and grasp sailing skills. Though powered by nitro or electric batteries, the rc sailboats mainly rely on wind and sailing skills.

Usually a hi-impact polystyrene plastic, selected woods, and high quality sail materials are used to build a sailboat. Here again, a hobbyist need to be expert in sailing, if he/she wants to assemble/build a fine rc sailboat. There are numerous radio control sailboat kits available including ready to sail (RTS) kits, and almost ready to sail (ARTS) kits. These kits usually come with a number of instructions that can help to assemble/build perfect radio control sailboats.
